Companies opt out of social media - and live to tell about it!
Not every company that either opts out of social media or uses it on a limited basis is doomed to failure. Quite the opposite actually. Silicon Alley Insider's War Room offers a refreshing look at small businesses that pulled back on their use of social media and, as a result, saw their business improve. The bottom line - if you're a small business owner and considering social media, use what makes the most sense for your business, you have the resources to support, and your customers use. Just because Joe's T-shirt shop uses Twitter doesn't mean you have to.
