Making technology accessible for everyone

There is new legislation working its way through Congress that would require manufacturers and service providers to make Web and mobile devices accessible for people who are blind or deaf. Fifty million Americans are visually and hearing impaired but the technology has not kept up - online videos lack captions, mobile devices require users to pay for speech software, the flat surface of a touch-based smartphone is impossible for someone who relies on raised buttons.

So a big shout-out to Congress for taking steps to make technology more accessible for everyone.
