Here's a great article from CNN about the ongoing discussion on advertising on mobile devices and a WPP (RTC's parent company) conference that debated the issue. The conference, actually an "unconference", highlighted the need to "rethink advertising" in order to effectively reach consumers on the small screen. What does this mean? Consider apps instead of ads, games instead of long form content, quick navigation pages instead of full navigation websites. Think geo targeted offers and in store couponing. Think relevance, timeliness, effortless, experiences.... Think future, not present.
