The Colors of the Web’s Superbrands [INFOGRAPHIC]

I am a sucker for a good info-graphic and since I'm very focused on color these days, this one was bound to get my attention. The folks at COLOURlovers (a very cool site) analyzed the colors of major Web brands to see what they could find.

  1. After reading the article I did a little digging - turns out the color blue is meant to communicate "trust, security, stability" - it's interesting that social networking sites want to communicate this in their logo. Red is "energy, attention," which makes sense for news sites. And it's also interesting that location-based sites are all over the color scale; they're a bit of a wild card :-)

  2. Orange means both inviting and cutting edge, which is why it was a huge Web/tech color back in the day.
